Everyone I know knows my name.
All my friends and enemies the same.
An abandoned building on a busy street;
They know where I am but they don't know me.
There's nothing left to do inside this lonely town but pray.
Sometimes I'm alone when the wind blows down,
It's hard to let it go.
I live in the only empty house in town,
Till you come home.
So wipe my windows and fix my doors.
Paint me new with a color of happy sorts.
Clean me up and dress me down.
Sweep off the porch and welcome this whole town.
There's nothing left to do inside this lonely town but pray.
If only you could step in for awhile you'd stay.
